Documenting the American South (DocSouth) is a digital publishing initiative that provides Internet access to texts, graphics, and audio files related to southern history, literature, and culture.
Overview
This resource full of primary sources is excellent documentation of all aspects of Southern History. Currently DocSouth includes sixteen thematic collections of books, diaries, posters, artifacts, letters, oral history interviews, and songs. The extensive list of resources can be used for research or reference.
How to Use this Resource
Provide a URL to link the content to your course shell. Be sure to include proper citation.
This library would be a great resource for any instructor to add additional relevant readings to modules. For students, if they must do research, this would be a good place to direct them to find reliable primary sources.
